Reality and a Test

Back to "normal"!!! So much for the UNO bond we shared! Mr. D came home from work today in a terrible mood, and I just added to it. He came up to the door, hands full and knocked and knocked to be let in because he didn't want to put his stuff down to get his key out. I didn't hear him, so I didn't let him in. I was vacuuming! Shame on me. He didn't actually yell at me, but came in swearing about his bad luck with timing and blah blah blah. Pooooooooooooooooor baby.

And. Umm. I'm late. You know, LATE. I am taking a test tomorrow morning but I am already a few days late and I'm usually pretty predictable.

  1. Oh MAN! Are you hoping to be late? Or, is this the LATE that makes you want to throw up just thinking about it? Even when you are not the happiest in your relationship, children can be a blessing, which is why I am asking.

I hope things go they way you want them to, in the LATE situation.

  2. I'm going to go out on a limb here, so please forgive me if I'm crossing a line of straightforwardness.

Going on ONLY what you've said here, when this kind of thing happens like the whole door and vaccuum and swearing thing... if he doesn't yell at you, if he's just grumbling and making a scene to the world in general and such, just let him spew. Let it go. You mentioned that he didn't yell at you specifically, so I'd say you spend about as much energy on it as it takes to roll your eyes and say "men!" and then forget it.

You mentioned back to "normal" and maybe there are more instances that go into that other than this door thing, but don't let something this petty get under your skin. We all get frustrated and growl at things and toss a pillow off the bed just to exert energy on something... if he didn't direct at you, don't take ownership of it. He can blow off steam, even though it would be nice if he could do it more politely, but that's his problem, not yours.

Save your energy, my friend, for the things that you can do something about. You can't help it that he came to the door when you were vaccuuming.

    Ok, I'm done. :)

As far as the late thing... don't know what to say. Keep us posted.

  4. Please, dear God, do not let her be pregnant.

  5. If you are pregnant them welcome the baby and proceed with the things that will help you to be strong. Counseling of course, though it is not the one size fits all answer to everything. It will be an immense benefit to you whether or not you have a new baby coming.

If you are pregnant, please take care of yourself and don't tell yourself that the baby is the cause of anything bad. It sounds like you are already a loving mother.

But you must feel physically and emotionally safe. This is important for you and (all) your children!

And I couldn't agree more with RK! She has great thoughts on letting him spew and not personalizing the remnant of his bad day. If he didn't direct it at you, then don't take ownership of it. I love that thought of RK's!
